You found the right person for the job.
Don't let the paperwork bog you down.
The Skilled Worker route is how UK employers hire the talent they need, and how thousands of overseas workers build a future here. But it is technical, and a small error can mean a refusal, a lost hire, and months of delay. ZH Law helps you get it right the first time.
Why do Skilled Worker applications get refused?
Most refusals are not about whether the job or the worker is genuine. They come down to the details: a role that doesn’t clearly meet the eligibility or salary rules, a Certificate of Sponsorship assigned incorrectly, missing evidence, or an application that doesn’t line up with the sponsor’s duties. For an employer, that means a delayed hire and wasted costs. And for a worker, it can put your job and your right to stay at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the salary threshold for a Skilled Worker visa?
The general threshold for most roles is £41,700 per year as of 22 July 2025. Lower thresholds apply for shortage occupations, new entrants, and specific sectors including health and education. ZH Law advises on the correct threshold for your specific occupation code and circumstances.
2. How long does a Skilled Worker visa application take?
Applications made outside the UK are typically decided within around 3 weeks. Applications made inside the UK usually take up to 8 weeks under standard processing.
3. Can I change employers on a Skilled Worker visa?
Yes. However, your new employer must hold a valid sponsor licence and issue a Certificate of Sponsorship. You must also apply to update your visa before starting the new role. Working without approval may breach your visa conditions.
4. What happens if my Skilled Worker visa application is refused?
Depending on the grounds, options may include administrative review, a fresh application, or an appeal. Time limits apply. Contact ZH Law as early as possible to discuss the options available to you.

We cannot thank the team at ZH Law enough for the outstanding service we received, especially from Mr Mufaddal Borhany and Mr Zainul Jafferji. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue we had with our daughter’s passport. Mufaddal was always available whenever we messaged or called, responding quickly - no query was ever too small, and every concern was handled with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. He was very thorough especially with writing a detailed letter to HM Passport Office on our behalf, which ultimately helped our case succeed and allowed us to obtain the outcome we needed. We thoroughly recommend their services.Posted on Google Yusuf AbdulaliTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cannot recommend ZH Law highly enough.
